Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography - Walter Isaacson

ebook

This work offers a summary of the book "Steve Jobs: The exclusive Biography" by Walter Isaacson.

Steve Jobs was a visionary and a genius. If he decided that something should happen, then he would strive to make sure it would.

During his entire career, he would constantly work and live at the intersection of technology and art. With his wits, bluntness and unique ability to sell and convince, he pushed his team to outdo themselves. They may not have seen it at the time, but in time, his team would love him for it. Through his persistent intensity, he achieved his dream: to change the course of history.

He believed rules didn't apply to him because he was special, but in the end, he branded the computer industry with his fully integrated system, the music industry with iTunes and the iPod, online media with the iPad, animation films with Pixar, and three generations with his vision of the future.

In opposition to his rivals, he always voted for an all-in-one integrated system instead of an open one. He insisted to be in control of everything, from manufacturing to selling.

Jobs was an obsessive and incessant control freak. Yet, when he asked Walter Isaacson to write his biography, he was very clear that he would not supervise or even read any of it before it was published. It was paradox to his personality. He explained, poignantly and true to his brutally honest nature, that he wanted his children to know him, to understand him, even though throughout their young lives, he had not always been present. Perhaps, he took that decision so he would (indirectly) share to the world why he acted the way he did.
